What’s the precision of water-jet cutting?
The cutting precision of Dardi water-jet machine is +/-0.1mm. Dynamic water-jet machine can improve the cutting precision, and remove the cutting taper.
What’s the thickness of the work-piece cut by water-jet?
In most cases, waterjet can cut any material (except for tempered glass), the thickness between 0-50mm. In Dardi, it is used to cut stainless steel, the thickness above 100mm.
Which abrasive do you choose to cut?
The most common abrasive is garnet, and color of high grade garnet is red-brown. It is with no debris, clear angular.
What’s the width of kerf?
The kerf is about 10% wider than nozzle, about 0.8-1.2mm.
What’s the pressure of waterjet?
Max. pressure of Dardi waterjet cutting machine is 400MPa(60000psi). It is advised to adopt the max. cutting pressure, although it will cause little loss to the equipment. The loss is higher than service cost. In general conditions, the most cost is from abrasive water-jet cutting cost, abrasive cost and depreciation cost.
What’s the kerf gradient?
Generally speaking, there is a certain gradient on the surface if you don’t use dynamic cutting system. (Dynamic system can remove the cutting gradient--= refer to the tilt cutting head). The gradient is 3-5 degrees, which is have something to do with the material thickness, cutting speed. The thicker the material is, and slower the cutting speed is, the smaller gradient will be.
What’s the using life of the catcher tank grating?
Generally speaking, it will last for hundreds of hours in cutting same pattern parts at the place. Replace the grating according to the precision requirement. If the grating is seriously damaged, the cutting precision will be affected. Moving, turning gratings will extend the using life and reduce the using cost.
Does the work-piece need to be fixed by the clamp?
From the point of mechanics, material only bears upward force. The horizontal force is very small, and it don’t need to be fixed by the clamp. Press the light material with the heavy one, to lest water bound-back will affect the machining precision.
Under which condition waterjet can cut material underwater?
Benefits in cutting underwater:
1. Reduce the noise volume under 75Db;
2. Lest the blooming phenomenon.
Disadvantages of underwater cutting:
1. It can’t monitor the cutting process;
2. It can’t process the material, and it needs to adjust the catcher tank.
How long does the nozzle last?
The reasons that affect nozzles are: different abrasives, different precisions, different using means, the impact on orifices, and the nozzle itself. Dardi nozzle will last 60-180 hours.
Does water-jet cutting need to puncture at first?
Water-jet cutting needn’t to puncture at first. Water-jet will puncture and then cut the material automatically.
Is the cutting program difficult to design?
Waterjet equipment is CNC system. The designed program is not hard comparing with other cutting technologies. The specialized software is Newcam software. It converts the DXF file to cutting program, and changes the processing speed in time.
What’s the processing cost?
The processing cost includes: water cost, electricity cost, abrasive cost, depreciation cost, service cost and other operation cost. The cost differs with different areas. The cost in Nanjing is about 50-60 per hour.
How about the waterjet touches human body?
From the statics so far, the troubles in using waterjet machines are much less than the common users. The body can’t touch the waterjet. Unconquerable waterjet will seriously damage human body.
What’s the noise volume of the waterjet?
It produces noise in cutting, which is from 80 to 85 dB in daily cutting. Farther distance from the workpiece will result in the louder noise. The operators must wear ear plug in cutting.
Does the waterjet cutting belong to environmental program?
The whole process is environmental and innocuous. The consumables and abrasives are natural materials. If the cutting materials are innocuous, the waste water can discharge directly and dump in the garbage dump.
What’s the requirement of the waterjet?
It usually uses common water, and it will use softening system to remove ions, such as the calcium and magnesium, which will protect the UHP parts and prolong the using life.
Does the water use repeatedly?
Water in catcher tank can use for the second time after filtering, but it consumes little in cutting. It will be expensive after filtering, not economical.
